The theme of technology applied to agriculture is more actual than ever, especially if it is about farmers. The conflict between industrial farming, intensive, highly mechanized and traditional agriculture, made a way for a possible convergence in the direction of environmental sustainability.
ISE-NET has created a research and Development Division focused on the market in wine and fruit production testing solutions to answer real agronomy needs.
The farm Cascina Serrascura is the techniques testing site, located in a lovely and quiet hillside surrounded by hills of the Langhe. It grows for over 6 acres around the town of Trezzo Tinella (CN) in one of the most picturesque landscapes of the Cuneo hills.
In these places, where everywhere the work of man through the ages has been able to “shape” the landscape with rare skill, has been created a partnership: a Team of engineers and agronomists with the target to research and apply the most modern techniques for surveying and analysis in support of the deep and ancient traditions.
It is at this location that the techniques from the research in the field of remote sensing of proximity are integrated with traditional ones.
The Team of experts has optimized a workflow which, through the use of various platforms and special filters-spectral analysis (and beyond), is able to locate:
• Water Stress
• NDVI Index (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index);
• Monitoring and survey of contaminated plums, silos analysis, slurry pits, etc…
• Lowering of groundwater level
• monitoring situation of instability (small landslides or depressions)
• Early analysis methods of disease/pests in order to monitor its evolution and plan effectively the interventions;
Today, the strict requirements of sustainable practices require a radical acceleration of decision-making related to the management and exploitation of forest resources.
Increasingly, there is a need to identify deforestation issues almost in real time, treatment need of serious plant diseases, or other complex phenomena that can generate enormous economic damage and authentic ecological disasters.
In such situations, the classic techniques show obvious limitations in terms of speed.
We have made available Innovations and integrated multidisciplinarity that from traditional analysis techniques, accelerate processes and ensure highly accurate results.
To reduce the time and cost, we use Laser Scanner designed for environmental relief and Photogrammetric Technique by land or with UAV systems, i.e. the aircraft commonly known as drones.
Thanks to the complete integration of our platforms with multispectral sensors and the implementation of all in one GIS dedicated system, captured data provide specific analysis tools, such as thematic maps as delivery support.
This type of processed data represent a prime resource for Agriculture and Forestry, with particular reference to the analysis and monitoring of wooded areas.
